ONE MOMENT IN TIME
TAGLINE:
The middle age crisis struck him as a shock, that one second in his past might change everything,
and now it is too late, but the regrets are only what left.
LOGLINE:
Until the age of 40 he thought his life was the way it should be, and then he found himself in a
place where everything became so clear;
from now on he only breath the air without feeling anything. There is still a way to recover the
past mistakes, he can change the path he follows, but the price can be too high as he must move
away from what seems impossible.
SYNOPSIS:
Mark is happy with his life, professional goals, woman and two kids he lives with. He was born in
Czech Republic, and he always wanted to get away from there. When he was 18, he ran away from his
place in picturesque but poor Cesky Krumlov. He started to live and work in London as a noticeably
young boy and he was happy, he thought his dreams had come true.
Time passed. He got a higher degree. He bought an impressive flat on The Thames banks. He started a
family. He never wanted to get married for some reason. His life was simple, easy, beautiful but
empty. Every Christmas, every birthday, Bank Holiday and far away journeys lacked excitement
increasingly each year.
Suddenly someone called from Prague. The lady on the phone said she is his aunt. He thought he had
never had a family. He grew up in an orphanage and hated it. He had to visit his birthplace for
some important family matters. The moment he felt the air, saw the color of the sky and grass,
spent a few days in auntie’s house; he knew that his life was a joke. He made a wrong choice, only
if he could fix it all.
INT: NIGHTIME. MARK’S BALCONY OVERLOOKING THE THAMES. LUCIA, ITALIAN WOMAN HUGS MARK FROM THE BACK.
MARK:
Are they finally asleep?
LUCIA:
Yes, we can light up a BBQ now, amore mio. I prepared your favorite carbonara and opened the wine.
MARK:
The one your dad gave us from his magic winery in Abruzzo?
LUCIA, LAUGHING IN HER CHARMING WAY:
The one and only, amore mio. Come on, I am getting hungry.
MARK:
Give me a moment, please. I need to finish this.
LUCIA:
Va Bene, I am going to change then.
MARK, THINKING AND LOOKING FOR A RIVER:
Why I lie constantly to that beautiful woman? My life is so amazing and yet I am missing something.
How come one can be unhappy having all this? The City is even twinkling to me. I am in the middle
of events, in the most desirable place in the world, the best known for everyone around the globe
and I am miserable. What’s wrong with me??
THE PHONE STARTED TO RING:

MARK, IN DISBELIF:

LADY ON THE PHONE:
Mark, is that you? I got your number from your website. It’s your auntie, Bohdanka.
MARK, TO HIMSELF:
What the actual fuck? As far as I know I have no family.
BOHDANKA:
You need to come to Cesky Kremlov as soon as you can, there are things you must take care of. Very
important matters.
MARK:
I don’t have anything to do in Czech Republic, I don’t even remember your language, I was just born
there and I don’t even know who gave birth to me.
BOHDANKA:
Darling, please come, I promise I will explain to you everything.
MARK, ANGRY:
Let me think about it. LUCIA, FROM INSIDE:
Amore mio, are you ready?
MARK, CONFUSED:
I think so. I am ready to meet my origin. Finally. After so many years
